Journey to the falls is for fathers and sons who wish to deepen their relationship and understanding of men in community.
This is a 24 hr, overnight cultural experience.
It is designed for male youth from 9 to 17 years accompanied by their fathers (and including mentors, stepfathers or any significant adult male in the youth’s life) who are reasonably fit, active, responsible and willing to be involved in adventure and personal enquiry.
As a group, we will walk for three hours through the bush to a waterfall, returning late afternoon to a Camp Lodge in the Waitakeres.
Here we will create a culture that includes fire, food, music, the rich history of our stories and an opportunity for us to speak as men of our own experiences, our hopes and dreams.
Son and father will each need to bring
a daypack, sleeping bag, outdoor
clothing and a good coat.
You will not require a tent.
We will provide accommodation,
a hearty evening meal and breakfast
next morning. Secure parking for
your car.
